Another baseball season is here and many are excited get back to normal with vaccine centers ramping up throughout the state. Governor Gretchen Whitmer and colleagues have made an adjustment to the previous Epidemic order. Under the previous covid restrictions, the Detroit Tigers were limited to only 1,000 fans in attendance for the 2021 season.

All previous capacity numbers are out the door and the updated order now allow the Detroit Tigers to accommodate 8,200 fans for its home opener against The Cleveland Indians on April 1 and succeeding games. The revised plan still has strict guidelines; Spectator Cohorts, Face Mask must be worn at all times, Enter and Exit Controls, Physical Distancing and No Touch protocols were named inside the press release from officials from the State of Michigan.

The recent amend to the Epidemic Order now put the Tigers on par with other Baseball Stadiums around the Midwest region. Most stadiums from the midwest are still trying to play it safe as possible while understanding we are not out of the water with this pandemic. The Phillies and Pirates are also operating at 20% capacity, while the Ohio MLB teams will operate at 30%. Milwaukee and The Minnesota Twins will both operate at 25% capacity this upcoming season.

The Texas Rangers took the initiative to spearhead its campaign for 100% capacity; I’m sure others within the southern region of the country will have relatively higher capacity numbers than teams up north.
